"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

Hello,

Don't be offended, I came across your profile when i was browsing the internet and you really got me interested, Can you be able to use your good office to assist/partner with me to move this reasonable fund to any an account of your choice? I have in my possession the sum of  (38.5) Million British pounds which I recovered during an inter banking cash movement from Africa to United Kingdom, possibly funds left by an unknown African politician. This fund has been in a dormant account since the year 2001 and I do not intend handing this money over to the bank am working with, Lloyds Tsb Bank Plc here in London. It is under my power to approve whoever comes forth for this money. I therefore seek for a foreign beneficiary before our forth coming financial year. I am sorry if this is not in line with your business. You will also be entitled to a percentage agreed upon between me and you before the commencement of this project. I'm patiently waiting to hear
from you so we would proceed as soon as possible.  I hope I am being fair on this deal?

Yours Sincerely,
Alex Stacy.
