"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I'm writing to seek your urgent assistance to receive our Two Trunk Boxes which was shipped under the approval of "Ghana Govt. but presently in the U.S through the help of UN diplomatic agent....Well, Its contained $28 Million in total, I and my mother inherited it and we intend to use it for a real estate investment or any other profitable business in your country.

We contacted you because we are searching for a God-fearing, honest and trustworthy person that will help us retrieve them as our new foreign partner, so my mother and I decided to write you because the UN diplomat that accommodated the boxes is presently at the JFK Int'l Airport in New York as we speak and we want him to deliver it to you as soon as possible.....
