"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: Re: Grant

I am David Allsobrook. My wife and I won a National Lottery Jackpot last october.

After much thinking, we agreed that we should spread part of it around to help enhance global development, we contracted a firm to help shortlist and randomly select an individual with outstanding profile/personality from around the world, I must say i am pleased with your enormous achievements and contributions to societal development so far. We have decided to donate the sum of £500,000.00 Pounds to you as part of our own project to improve Global development.

Contrary to what many would think, My wife Debra and I both retained our job as we try to continue our normal lives except for the fact that we are making sure our parents gets the best. The win came to us as a huge surprise and in the same vain we decided to make someone else share a similar winning fate even without buying Lottery tickets. In just a few months, we have helped a few locals find their grounds.

I thereby beseech you to use the funds to affect people around you positively, boost productivity, create jobs and improve development in your region as much as you can.For the purpose of transparency and access impact, I am contacting you myself to ensure the funds is rightfully allocated.

Do have a confirmation email sent to allsobrook1012@yahoo.co.uk so that I can forward you details to receive the donation.
