"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Treat As Urgent

My Dear,
I am Mrs.Nerissa Yaakov-Newlands,a 69 Year old widow suffering from
esophagial cancer which in all indications has defied all forms of medical
care and attention.

I have been given a prognosis of 11 weeks to live by my doctors. My
husband,an oil magnate, and I were married but without any child. When my late
husband was alive he deposited the sum of $16,500,000.00 US Dollars with
United National Bank in the UNITED KINGDOM.Presently this money is still with
the bank and the management has inundated me with mails as the beneficiary to
come forward to receive the money or rather issue a letter of authority to
someone to receive it on my behalf. I am presently in a hospice where I have
been undergoing treatment.Having known my condition, I have decided to donate
these funds to the less privileged and the needy through your assistance as
this is the reason why
you are being contacted by me.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Mrs Newlands
