"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: URGENTLY GET BACK TO ME

Dear beloved friend,

I know that this letter may be a very big surprise to you, I came across
your email contact from my personal search and I instructed the doctor
here in this hospital to help me email you and I believe that you will be
honest to fulfill my final wish before I will die.

I am Mrs. Deborah Hendricks from SCOTLAND; I am 57 years old, I am
suffering from a Pancreatic Cancer. From all indication my condition is
really deteriorating, and my doctors have courageously advised me that I
may not live beyond the next two months; this is because the cancer stage
has reached a critical stage. I was brought up in a motherless baby’s
home, and was married to my late husband for twenty years without a child.
My husband and I are true Christians, but quite unfortunately, he died in
a fatal motor accident.

I am married to Mr. Joseph Hendricks who worked with the Ivory Coast
embassy in Ivory Coast for ten years before he died in the year 2010. We
were married for twenty years without a child. He died in a fatal motor
accident. Before his death we were God fearing couples. I decided not to
remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which is against the
holy marriage communion. When my late husband was alive he deposited the
sum of fourteen million three hundred and thirty four thousand dollars
($USD14.334M) in a Financial Company in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Presently,
this money is still in the bank. Having known my condition I decided to
donate this fund to a charity organization that will utilize this money
the way I am going to instruct herein.

I want an organization that will use this fund for orphanages, school and
house of God, widows, propagating the word of God. I know that "Blessed is
the hand that gives". I took this decision because I don't have any child
that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not godly people
and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by them. I don't want a
situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I
am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am
going. I don't need any telephone communication in this regard because of
my health hence the presence of my husband's relatives around me always. I
don't want them to know about this development. With God all things are
possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of
the Financial Company.

I will also issue you an authorization letter that will prove you as the
present beneficiary of this fund. I want you and your household to always
pray for me. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy godly person.

Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and truth.
Please always be prayerful all through your life. Any delay in your reply
will give me room in sourcing another church for this same purpose. Please
assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein. Hope to hear
from you soonest.

Awaiting your reply
Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Deborah
