"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Highly important and must be kept confidential

MR.JOSE DAVID FERGUSSON
Diplomatic Cargoes Inspection Unit
JFK International Airport N/Y
New York.

Hello,

My name is Jose David Fergusson and i am the deputy head of diplomatic
cargoes inspections here at the JFK International Airport New York.
During my routine check on the various diplomatic luggage that usually
goes through this unit/airport, I discovered an abandoned shipment
through a diplomat from United Kingdom which was forwarded from JFK
International Airport New York to our diplomatic storage facility here
in New York, when this box was scanned it was revealed an undisclosed
sum of money that were neatly packed in the metal truck box with a
weight approximately 110lbs. The consignment was abandoned because the
Content was not properly declared by the consignee as money, it was
declared as personal effect apparently to avoid diversion by the
shipping agent from my calculations, moreso the Diplomat's inability
to pay for Non Inspection Fees and other necessary charges as demanded
by the United States Customs officials on point of entry could have
led him to abandon the metal box.

On further check, I also found out that the box may contain more that
$4M in cash. I carefully kept this Consignment in a very safe
compartment here at the JFK airport and it has a weight of about
110lbs with (Internal dimension: W61 x H156 x D73 (cm) effective
capacity: 680 L.) approximately.

The details of the consignment including your name, the official
document from dispatching office in London are tagged on the metal
trunk box. If you want us to transact the delivery of this box to you
for our mutual benefit, you should quickly contact me so that we can
reach an agreement based on my conditions stated herein. Note however
that all communication must be held extremely confidential, I can have
everything concluded within 24 to 48 hours upon your acceptance and
proceed to your address for delivery. But it must be on the condition
that you will give me 20% of the amount contained in the boxes as well
as take personal responsibility for the confidential shipment of the
box to your home address.

I want us to transact this business and share the money as quickly as
possible considering that the box was abandoned by the diplomat for
what i believe was due to security reasons.

Be rest assured that I will use my official position to ensure that
the box is approved for delivery to your given address as soon as i
receive a positive reply from you however i must repeat that it must
be on the condition that you must be ready to quickly organize the
shipment of the box containing these funds to your given home address
from our new york office as soon as all the necessary paperwork are
finalized.

Best Regards

Jose David Fergusson
