"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re: Confirm Your Email Address!

Hi, I Want To Trust You.

I am confident that my email will meet you well in good health even though
I did not get your first reply if you ever did, but hope you can answer
this one urgently!

I graciously crave your concern here. I have found your email address in
legal and humanitarian profiles and I think I can trust you with this
deal, this is not a hoax its genuine and legal. I have full access to
certain huge amount of money with a Bank in the UK. The source of the fund
is real and harmless. The account belongs to one Ritwik Hassan Ghatak,
Bangladesh a business merchant, who had owned this account and had died
(Yes died I use to know him). How did I know, he is a very close friend of
mine, but he was not generous I never knew he could have such amount of
money in a foreign bank and I am languishing with him. I happened to be
going through some of his personal documents when I found out about the
funds and I did contacted the bank in the UK to verify the authenticity of
the account and it was confirmed that it has been dormant for long now, a
deposit account with all its accrued dividends.

With my position in his personal affairs I would not want to be linked to
this transaction, there are so much speculations surrounding his demise, I
would appreciate if you dare not dent my reputation as we progress, so I
have to sort for a foreign partner who will help me receive the Funds in
his/her home country into his personal account (we can make a clean shit
no trace), and thank God I have found. All I need you to do is to contact
the bank in the UK and they will transfer the funds into your account for
keeps and I will later come over to your country to meet with you to have
my percentage from the funds which will share 30/70. The bank confirmed
they will release to me on written request from Ritwik Hassan Ghatak the
online banking access in my possession and nobody knows about this, I will
give it to you to access the account online and then let me know if you
are willing to finalize the deal. I have necessary documents and the
Account Number and Assigned PIN Code to login and access the Account's
Statement of Account, these I will give to you if you reply back to me
showing interest.

Please, I am waiting eagerly for a response from you indicating your
interest in the deal and will be ready to contact the bank immediately.
There is no need to act as Next of Kin, all you need do is to request for
Wire Transfer to your Account from the Bank on behalf of Ritwik Hassan
Ghatak, the original account owner who is now dead. Just Hit your REPLY
BUTTON to give me a feedback email, only so you can easily reach me and I
will promptly get back to you with full details.
