"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,

It's my pleasure writing you this mail; I am a Ghanian by Nationality. My name is Stephen Kwame, I am the only child of Late Johnson Kwame who was a very rich Gold Miner in Ghana.

My father was poisoned and I have always suspected my uncle who never liked him because he was very wealthy. So many times my uncle called and asked me if my father gave me documents of any of his investments before he died.

Before my father died, he instructed and confided in me as his only child about his business and secrecy. As a matter of fact, my father gave me some documents bearing the name of a Security company in Johannesburg, South Africa, which he told me was the place he deposited $27,500,000.00 and Gold worth $15,000,000.00 when he was assigned for special duty.

Three years after my father’s death, I traveled with the documents that he gave to me to South Africa where I confirmed the documents. The Company showed me three (3) sealed trunk boxes with the inscription "FAMILY ARCHIVE" with my name being used as the Next of Kin in the deposit form.

However, my father had earlier informed me that he cleverly packed the Twenty Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars in two sealed trunk boxes and the third box contains Gold though he did not declare the actual content of all these consignments to the company as he told the Company that they contain the works of art. This he did in order to conceal the money from being detected and stolen by the company.

My father left instruction that I can only claim the consignment when I have reached the age of 28 and I cannot wait for another three years before claiming the consignment since I am just 25 years now. The company advised me to look for someone I can trust to assist me to claim the deposit since there is a standing order on my age and because I don’t want to work with anyone in Ghana since I don’t know who killed my father, I decided to seek help from overseas.

Now with my father’s exit, I need a foreign partner with the image of God in him who will assist me to receive this proceeds in abroad, who will equally not sidetrack or deny me when this money get into his possession. All I need is for you to assist me and claim this deposit and receive it in your country. Also I need your help in the area of investing this money and to sell the Gold.

I wish to offer you 25% of total cash sum and Gold for your assistance if you help me to claim and receive the trunk boxes in your country. As soon as you have received them, I will immediately join you in your country. I have been in South Africa for one week now and know no one here; also I don’t want to go back Ghana for the fear of being killed like my father so I want to stay here and complete this.

I am really concerned about the confidentiality of this email and the content and I beg you never to let anyone else know about this no matter who the person is to you.
Contact me back with an assurance that you will not betray me and I will call you if you provide your contact information.

Yours truly,
Stephen Kwame.
JHB-South Africa
