"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I need your urgent reply

My name is Mr Stojjre Mark Coco, I write to solicit your assistance
for a transaction of mutual benefit, believing that you will treat
this with at most confidence.

I implore you to excuse me of any embarrassment this letter might
cause you, as we have not met before.

I have the mandate of my colleagues in Togo to solicit for assistance
in a business deal we want to execute with you. We are the officials
of the ministry of health and social services (MHSS ) in Togo. This
ministry awarded contract of $115,800,000,00 (one hundred and fifteen
million, eight hundred thousand united state dollars ) to a foreign
firm for the suppy and installation of scan machines, X-Ray machines,
fetus heart and fasting blood sugar machines for all the university
teaching hospitals in the country.

I and other senior members of my department (Contract award comittee)
in the cause of writing the contract, we were able to over-invoice the
contract sum to the tune of $143,300,000,00 ( one hundred and forty
three million Three Hundered thousand united state dollars) And it
might also interest you to know that the original contractor who
execute the contract have been paid their contract entitlement.

Now we are left with the over-invoice sum of $27,500,000,00 ( twenty
seven million, five hundred thousand united state dollars ) for our
mutaul benefit. All arrangement has been concluded on how the money
will be transfered. However our constraints lie on the fact that we
require a foreign firm to whom the money will be paid, The foreign
firm will be portrayed as the beneficiry of this amount, as a contract
sum.

In fact this is why am writing this letter to you seeking for your assistance.

NOTE : there is no risk involve in this transaction, as we have
taken care of all possible loopholes. As a civil servants , we are
aware that some financial assistance will be required to successfully
effect the transfer of the funds. For this reason, we have generally
agreed to reimburse you with the sum of $7,000,000,00 (Seven million
united state dollars ) and the rest fund have been mapped out for the
importation of Telecommunication equipment, and we also seek your
help in this regards.

Please indicate your position on this matter, if you are not willing
to assist us, kidly keep this deal to yourself and inform us of your
position. It is also important that I inform you that the Officials
involve in this transaction are top Government functionaries who have
put in many years in the civil service in this country ( Togo.)

Therefore, for the mentainance of personal integrity and prestige of
all person involved in this transaction, you are implore to exhibit
utmost secrecy though out the duration of this deal.

You are strongly advice to avoid discussing this transaction with a
third party, as this could jeopardize the sucess of this transaction.

Meanwhile, all arrangement for the transfer have been propally
organized and further action await your response to this request
