"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

- "dear friend" (a common phrase found in 419 scams)

This farm industry IÂ work with just started manufacturing of animalâ€™s drugs not more then two years, I am contacting you from the hospital where I admitted for eight months because of motor accident, now my Director called me that I should order 200 liters from India chemical supplier ,so that he will send my co-worker but junior staff to India chemical company for payment of the 200-liters,

Since I can not travel for now cause of my situation, please my problem now is that I donâ€™t want the junior staff worker to know the normal price of the chemical materials in India so that he will not spoil business for me, I contacted you so that I will present you to my Director as chemical liquid supplier in India, so that you will buy from the mini dealer in Mumbai India and supply to my junior staff representative,

So that you and I will share the profits that you will make from my Director 60% for you / 40% me, if you can handle this please your urgent response so that I will inform my Director that India chemical company wrote that our farm order is ready ,enable him to send junior staffÂ to India for payment ,
