"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

Greetings,

I want you to stand as the supplier of the chemical that my boss want to travel to Dubail to purchase, I use to travel to Dubai to buy this chemical for him, But due to the car accident that has kept me in the hospital for eight months, he can no longer send me to buy the chemical, so he want to travel to Dubail by himsself for the purchase of the chemical.

However I do not want him to find out the current price of the chemical because I use to buy the chemical from the local dealer at the rate of $2,500 per liter while I supply it to him at the rate of $7,900 and he use to demand the chemical in bulk purchase.
If I introduce you as the dealer, My boss will contact you to confirm the availability of the Chemical materials and he will command it from you, the Chemical current price in Dubail is $2,500 while I use to supply to my boss at the rate of $7,900 for one liter, and my boss use to demand for a large quantity.

I am contacting you to stand as the sale person that supply the chemical, this make them to contact you for the supply of the chemical, however I will also give you the direct contact of the local dealer of the chemical in Dubai where you will get the chemical for $2500 and sell to them at $7,900 or you can tell them $7,500 per/liter to gain their interest.

I want you to understand that you and I will share the profit that we will come out from this business.
