"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I hereby wish to inform you that there is a new development since we
have not heard from you. Your consignment box is return back to Benin
republic due to your delay and in my arrival to Benin I run to bank to
deposit the consignment funds continued cash dollars. I am happy that
you can never abandoned your despite all the trust that I reposed on
you in this transaction. How is your family, many glory to them all we
shall see each other when you assist me receive this money.

It is with the UBA Bank here in Benin for approval of the fund.
However, it is approved today for transfer into your account.
Unfortunately, the bank advised that the funds should be paid by their
UBA bank Benin. They told us that all issues related to the fund
transfer were regularized and confirmed authentic and your money will
be released to you by UBA bank, please, call the bank immediately to
advise you exactly what they need, how and when the funds will arrive
your account.
