"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: REQUESTING FOR URGENT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP

Greetings to you and your family and I hope this letter meets you in good health. My name is Martin Johnson and I am an investment broker here in the United States of America. Due to my Kenyan background, I was consulted by an erstwhile top-ranking member of a front line liberation movement in Liberia, whose organization had engaged the Liberian government in a protracted civil war since 1985. My client now wishes to channel his money amounting to the sum of US$19,000,500.00 into a productive venture instead of war. He intend to make this investment discreetly and under discretionary asset management arrangement but I am seeking for a very reliable and honest person who will be capable and willing to receive the funds.

However, I have contacted you on the consideration that we could discuss the possibility of my client placing his money with you for management either in your existing establishment or new venture to be undertaken at your discretion under terms to be agreed upon. He prefers that this investment be made in your choice country and I will be expecting your response in-order to discuss further in details. E-mail me your reply here (mjbroker.private0@hotmail.com).

Regards,
Mr. Martin Johnson
