"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From Mr. Kenneth Obika.

*Dear Sir, It is my pleasure to get into touch with you today for a
very important reason. You have been introduced to me by a trusted friend
who considers you trustworthy. Therefore, it is with confidence I am
writing to introduce myself to you, and a business which we have kept very
closely to heart over the years. My names are Mr. Kenneth Obika, a senior
accounts officer with the Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG). In
agreement with my director, I wish to inform you that we would like to work
with you for the transfer of funds, if you are interested.*

* Yes, I say if you are interested, because I know how you might view an
opportunity like this, considering all the evils going on in the internet,
nay in the world today. The funds resulted from over-invoiced contract
amounts. **Be assured that your part in this transaction shall be well
secured. **I shall wait for your honest reply, for the full detail of this
matter,*
*Sincerely,*
*Mr. Kenneth Obika.*
