"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: MY DEAR FRIEND...

Good Friend,

Thank you for your response and it is with great pleasure to inform
you in respect of the real estate investment projects I have in mind
to execute in your country in the real estate sector which you will be
the guardian and supervisor of the projects because I cannot travel
out at this moment because of my present health status.

In brief introduction, My name is Mrs. Maria Rosari, I am 51 years
with two children, my husband who is a petrochemical engineer,
expatriate working with Libyan petroleum refineries was shot dead in
cold blood when he was working in one of the oil fields during shots
out between Gaddafi?s loyalists and rebels in the recent civil war in
Libya In fact, it was by God?s mercy that I and my children escape
from Libya to UK with a UN rescue mission aircraft where I am
presently writing you from now but I do desire for the future of my
sons to be in your country and also to worsen my predicament, sadly I
have been diagnose of ovarian cancer.

So that is why I am actually in search of an honest and reliable
person who will help my sons relocate to his/her country for a better
life, and i believe you will not betray me. Meanwhile, during the
disturbance and uprising of violence in Libya prior to my husband's
death he gave me the information and all the documents for the secret
deposit he made in a security company. The deposit value is US$ 11.7
Million US Dollars, he made the deposit in one trunk box which
content the cash but the real content of the box was not disclosed to
the security company officials as this was deposited as family
valuables/classified documents.(for obvious personal security reasons)

On my arrival here in the UK where I am presently residing under
political asylum, I have contacted the security company to confirm
the deposit and establish ownership, please I need your assistance
urgently in moving this fund to your country for investment, when my
inheritance is properly secured you will have 15% of the value for
your assistance and 25% of the annual profit generated from the
investment under your care.

I have decided to seek for your collaboration to invest this fund in
your line of activity and real estate under your surveillance and also
my late husband?s spirit will be appeased in sense that I have 2
children for him and their future depends on the success of this
project and he was even planning to execute a real estate project in
the name of our children. So can you help me? Can I trust you? Are you
capable of handling this money and make sure that my children finish
their education even though anything happens to me in future?

I shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and
willingness to handle this transaction sincerely. I assure you of the
genuinely and risk-free of this proposal.

May truth and love be the guiding word in my refuge in you dear helper.

Your Sister in Christ,
Mrs. Maria Rosari
