"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello dear,
I am writing to inform you that, my client Late Engr. Frederick Wesson, a Foreign expatriate and contractor with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) appointed you to be the sole executor, trustee for the establishment of a Christian Foundation in your Country, a dream which he had but could not accomplish until his death.
Late Engr. Frederick Wesson did officially and legitimately executed a contract valued at the sum of US$20Million with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) which he bequested to your care for the project establishing a Christian Foundation and I have been reliably informed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that, the payment has been approved for release.
The details of this US$20Million will be confirmed to you as soon as you confirm your willingness to carry out this project as proposed by late Engr. Frederick Wesson.
I look forward to receive your response and confirmation.
Thanks for your anticipated co-operation.
Best regards,
Luke C. Walters (SAN)
