"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Dear Friend,

I am Sister Kate C Henshaw, a 78 year old widow and British national living
in Iraq. Am formerly a Muslim and later Converted into christian after the
death of my only son during the Iraqi war and a few years later i
discovered that i have leukemia (blood cancer), I got to know that wealth
without Christ is vanity this is how i became a born again christian.

Being close to my grave as diagnosed recently, I want to donate a total sum
of $30.7Million in your care for Evangelism and support for the less

needy in the society.

Presently Christians in Iraq are been persecuted by ISIS Militants and

of the good news of Christianity and to reach out to the people of the
world to help the Iraq Christians fight and defend their faith.

Please ignore and delete this correspondence if you will not fulfill this
obligation when you have the money at your disposal. I will appreciate your
