"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello and how are you?

9th Sept 2014.

Dear friend,

Please consider this mail and accept it and give it fair consideration and
realize I never contacted you in error.

Before proceeding, I wish to introduce myself am Mr. Peter Mangalani, I am
the Director of Debt and Asset management, Investec Private Bank Ltd
London. I am pleased to get across to you for a business proposal which I
believe will profit both of us on completion.

I contacted you after a careful thought that you might be capable of
handling this business transaction, which I explained below after going
through your profile.
A trunk of 100% pure Gold in (24 karats quality) valued GBP 26,900,000
(Twenty six Million nine hundred thousand British Pounds), was brought to
my office to enable me officially evaluate it and approve a loan worth the
amount of the Gold for cash conversation with the gold as a collateral.

After inspecting the treasure in my office, with the owner late Mr. Boris
Berezovsky a Russian businessman who brought the treasure. I requested from
him some documents which will enable me make official recommendations to
the bank for the approval of his loan requested, since those documents were
not in his possession at that moment, he promised to come back leaving the
Gold treasure in my personal custody, but I issued him a certificate of
deposit before leaving my office as he promised to come back within 3 days,
before I sadly heard of his unfortunate demised days after.

Since I heard of this unfortunate incident I have used every conventional
and unconventional means within my disposal to locate any of his relations
to no avail. And my bank is now aware of the treasure and threatening to
confiscate the treasure by involving the state, since it was not properly
deposited, therefore whereby I could not provide his next of kin, who will
retrieve the deposit either as it is deposited or by cash conversion.

I have decided to seek your assistance to have you stand in as Mr. Boris
Berezovsky contact person so that I will recommend to the bank and make
immediate concrete arrangement to release the treasure to you, since the
bank is aware of the treasure now and another good thing is that the bank
can still go ahead to convert the treasure and then remit the cash to you
based on my recommendation as I will agrrange with you and we may in turn
invest the proceeds at your good advice or share it to ourselves and donate
some part to a choice charity home.

Kindly note that we stand to make cool business from this without hitch,
since the bank doesn’t know about this fact as I will control the situation
if you are interested because allowing the bank to confiscate it as an
abandoned deposit will not be of benefit to me hence my decision of
involving you.

Please send your confidential reply if you are willing to:

Mr.Peter Mangalani Malungani
