"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hi dear,

I will like to use this mail to offer you a proposal to be our holding
person in oversea for an over invoice we intend raising from our Ministry.

This transaction is a fall out from the huge medical equipments we
recently received from (ALIKO DANGOTE FOUNDATION), we only want to make
some money out of it that’s all, total money involved is Eight hundred
thousand dollars $800.000.00.

we do handle opportunities like this with local business people, but my
commissioner instructed that I look for a partner in abroad for this
particular transaction because the amount involved is bigger.

We only need to pose you on a strict confidentiality as if you had
supplied part of these medical equipments to us so that we will have the
reason to make this payment to you on a cordially agreed terms, this is a
very simple transaction with your absolute co-operations with us, I will
detail you fully upon your reply.

Yours faithfully

James C Mark
