"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam
The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.
Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.
Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

- This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
- The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
- "i will like you to " (a common phrase found in 419 scams)
- "death certificate" (this phrase is often used in inheritance scams such as next of kin or https://www.419scam.org/419-murdered-businessman.htm">orphan scams. )

 My Dearest ,
How was your day? Mine is cool over here in Burkina Faso. Thank you so much for your reply to my mail. Please i will like you to take time and go through this mail with passion. Actually you don't know me and I don't know you for the first time, I got your contact through my personal search in the directory to locate a foreigner who will help me in this my situation. My name as i told you earlier is Miss. Nasirah Adams Ali 26 years old single girl from Monrovia Libya in North Africa and presently I am residing in the refugee camp here in Burkina Faso as a result of the civil war going on in my country. My late father Dr Adams Ali was a politician and the managing director of a Gold & Mine Ind in Libya before the rebels attacked our house one early morning killing my mother and my father. It was only me that is alive now and i managed to make my way to Burkina Faso where i am leaving now as a refugee. Honestly, my days is not so good since i came over here in Burkina Faso in this prison called refugee camp we are only allowed to go out only on Mondays and Fridays of the weeks. Its just like one staying in the prison and i hope by Gods grace and with your future assistance i will come out here soon.
I don't have any relatives now whom i can go to, all my relatives ran away in the middle of the war and I am the only child to my late parents. The only person i have now is Rev.Pastor Henry Beth who is the pastor of the Church here in the camp he has been very nice to me since i came here but i am not living with him. Rather i am leaving in the women's hostel because the camp have two hostels one for men the other for women. I use the Rev Pastor's computer to email you because I normally visit his office every day.The Pastor's Tel number is ( +226-663-846-57) if you call and tell him that you want to speak with me, he will send for me in the hostel. As a refugee here i don't have any right or privilege to anything be it money or whatever because it is against the law of this country. I want to go back to my studies because i only finished my first year in the university before the tragedy incident that lead to my being in this situation now took place.
Please listen to this (it's a secret, even the Reverend don't know about it),i have my late father's statement of account and his death certificate here with me which i will send to you later, because when he was alive he deposited some amount of money in one of the leading Financial House in which he used my name as the next of kin, the amount in question is $7,000,000.00(Seven Million US Dollars). So i will like you to help me transfer this money to your account and from it you will send some money for me to get my traveling documents and air ticket to come over to meet with you. I kept this secret to people in the camp here so in the light of above i will like you to keep it to yourself and don't tell it to anyone for i am afraid of loosing my life and the money if people get to know about it. Thus it is my intention to compensate you with 15% of the total money for your assistance and the balance shall be for investment in any profitable venture which you will recommend to me as I have no idea about foreign investment in your country.
Remember i am giving you all this information due to the trust i deposed on you now. I like honest and understanding people, truthful and a person of vision, truth and hardworking .Have a nice day and think about me. Awaiting to hear from you soonest. And i will send my pictures in my next reply. Please as soon as you receive this mail try to call me +226-663-846-57,
