"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

From: Mr. Jerry Martins

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Mr. Jerry Martins, Bank Manager of a Reputable bank here in
Johannesburg , Gauteng Province, Republic of South Africa. I have an urgent
and very confidential business proposition for you., a client of the bank,
who is in the South African Mining Corporation, (Name deliberately with
held) made a numbered time(Fixed) Deposit for twelve calendar months,
valued at US$28,200,000.00 (Twenty-Eight Million Two hundred thousand
Dollars) in my branch. Upon maturity, I sent a routine notification to his
forwarding address but got no reply. After a month, we sent a reminder and
finally we discovered from his contract employers, the South African Mining
Corporation, that the depositor, his wife and two of his children were
among the victims that died on 3rd of January 2004,on Boeing 737 Egyptian
Airliner that crashed into the Red Sea. You can read more about the crash
by visiting this website:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/3365769.stm

Also, on further investigation, I found out that he died without making a
WILL and all attempts to trace his next of kin were fruitless. I therefore
made further investigation and discovered that the depositor only declare
his wife as next of kin in all his official documents unfortunately the
wife was on board the flight,US$28,200,000.00 is just sitting in my Bank
without known beneficiary and the interest is being rolled over with the
principal sum at the end of each year.

Please I need your urgent co-operation because the South African banking
policy and guideline stipulates that any unclaimed funds belonging to a
deceased person without a next-of-kin (Beneficiary) for a period of 10years
will be confiscated to the Bank treasury as an “UNCLAIMED BILL” and I
do not want this to happen, I would rather put the money to my personal use
instead of me allowing the fund to be confiscated into the bank treasury.

However, I know this issue may be difficult for you to comprehend but it is
certainly the truth and I am privy to all Information that will be used to
facilitate the release of the funds into your country nominated account and
you will be compensated with 20% of the total fund on conclusion of the
transaction, also 10% has been mapped out to reimburse whatever expenses
that both parties would encounter along the line this includes all
telephone calls made and other unforeseen expenditures. All would be
reimbursed according to level of participation from the mapped out 10% as
soon as the money reflects in your country’s account for disbursements
and investments.
I will be looking forward to hear from you if you are willing to accept the
deal, I could be reached on my direct Tel: +27 78501 5365 and Emails:
(jerrymartins250@gmail.com)
Thanking you for your anticipated cooperation. I humbly look forward to
your response.

Yours Faithfully,
Mr. Jerry Martins.
