"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear friend,

I am contacting you by email due to the urgency of this contract and I want you to read this message carefully. I am Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, the head of Foreign Contract Department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), my ministry is in charge of all Nigeria Oil products.


The reason why am contacting you is because my ministry is looking for a contractor that will Supply Remotes Computer Peri Pheral Rs-232,Db 25 Connectors, High Quality Circuit For Refining Plant “ D” Tp” J” To The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation {NNPC} Port Harcourt refinery because it is producing below capacity due to lack of maintenance. In my search for the supply of these equipment's, I have contacted the company that have these equipment's and they have agreed to supply it at the cost of Eight Million U.S Dollars ($8Million) and the former contractor that was supplying it have increased their price from Twenty Six Million U.S Dollars ($26Million) to Twenty nine Million U.S Dollars ($29Million) and because of this new increment my ministry has stopped dealing with them and I was asked as the head of Foreign Contract Department to look for another contractor that will be cheaper and I have reported back to them that I have seen another contractor that have accepted t
o supply these equipment's

Right now, I want you and I to do this contract together so that this Twenty Six Million U.S Dollars ($26Million) will be paid to you as the contractor that will supply these equipment's to the refinery, when you have received these fund, you will wire the Eight Million U.S Dollars ($8Million) to the company that will supply these equipment's, then you and I will share the remaining Eighteen Million U.S Dollars ($18Million), you will have 40% out of these $18Million and my share will be 60%. I need a foreign partner like you before this business can succeed so that you will stand as the contractor. After we have completed this contract successfully, my ministry will be awarding the same type of contract for Warri and Kaduna refineries and I believe the contract will be given to us. We also have Crude Oil for sell if you can get a serious buyer. I am waiting for your reply immediately you receive this message so that we can proceed.
