"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: YOUR ATTENTION IS NEEDED................

Sir / Madam,

I am aware that we do not know each other at the first place, I am Mrs Lora
Nana, a widow with three girls. My husband was a gold miner and dealer in
our local village here in Accra Ghana (West Africa).I have decided with my
girls after his death, to contact you for your kind assistance to get us
out of this tragedy, torture and humiliation we have been going through due
to traditions and customs of Africa that dis-inherits a legal married wife
not to have access to her husbands estate due to the fact I had only girls.
Our problems are really inexplicable with my husband's brothers over his
finances and properties. It has been very devastating and traumatizing on me
and my young girls who are still very much young to bear all this.

We have the sum of $18 million American Dollars to move out as the only
thing left with us that his people do not have any information about. I
will need your assistance to process this funds and transfer it to your
private or company's account while we prepare to meet you in your country
for the investment of the above amount in your country or any other place
you could suggest. Our area of business interest would be on real estate
and Restaurant, farming. You will be nicely compensated with 20% of the
total amount for any financial assistance and personal expenses you may
encounter in the course of this transaction. I will also accept any
business that you may suggest that would be viable in your country or
elsewhere.
