"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I wait your reply

Hi dear,

I am presently in distress and needed your urgent help and assistance. I m  Ms. Anina Lylund, 20 years British Citizen, and only Daughter to late Engr. Grain Lylund, the Chairman/CEO of Gralyund Oil and Gas Limited, who died on 22nd February 2013 as result of food poison. Three weeks after his burial, my mother and only Brother was also shot to death on their way back home from shopping mall.

Meanwhile, before the death of my father in a private hospital here in London, he secretly called me on his bedside and disclosed to me that he had a sum of US$9.4 Million Dollars, left in a Bank here in London, which I am the next of kin. Since the death of my father, my uncle has sold our 2 companies in Newcastle and Ireland, so when I noticed and ask him, he threatened to kill me if I ever said that again.

However, to save my life and myself from total bankruptcy, please I need your help and assistance to retrieve and invest the money in any profitable business investment in your country on my behalf, thereafter I shall relocate to complete my education in your country. In appreciation of your kind help and assistance, I shall compensate you with 33% out of the total money. Please If interested, get back to me urgently for more details and to proceed.

I wait to hearing from you.

Yours Truly,
Ms. Anina Lylund
