"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: ABOUT YOUR DIVIDEND!

Hello,

This is big lottery Wales UK, you can view more about us through the official website that covers united kingdom at large: www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/about-big/our-people/board

So many people have benefited from big lottery England, Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales as we maintain the largest lottery network worldwide. Some winners outside UK could not claim their winning maybe they are blind due to old age or not longer alive. There is a winning prize of nine hundred thousand pounds sterling [£900K] which i intend to direct to you because the winner is nowhere to be found, (she won the lottery at her 86yrs in 2011) not quite long her phone & email could not be reached.

I intend to present you as her relation because both of you are from same continent, and it will be very easy to release the £900K to you with approval from Association of Professional Genealogists APG. The sharing will be equal since both of us will contribute to ensure swift success. I expect you to keep this communication privately through my personal email and contact phone number bellow.
