"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC)

Attn: Sir,

I am delegated from the United Nations Compensation Commission Office
in United Kingdom. It was created as a subsidiary organ of the United
Nations Security Council under Security Council resolution to process
claims and pay compensation for losses and damage suffered as a direct
result of Iraq's unlawful invasion and occupation of Kuwait in
1990-91.

About 2.7 million claims, with an asserted value of $352.5 billion,
were filed with the Commission. The Commission concluded
claims-processing in 2005, and the total compensation awarded was
$52.4 billion to approximately 1.5 million successful claimants.
Nineteen Panels of Commissioners reviewed and evaluated the claims
submitted by governments, international organisations, companies and
individuals.

As of 24 July 2014, the Commission had paid out about $46.7 billion in
compensation awards to successful claimants, and we discover your name
as one of the beneficiaries that have not been paid from July 2014
till date. As a matter of urgency re-confirm your information once
again.
