"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am Mr.Joe Ugoala,Head,(Policy,Strategy Risk Management Departmentand) I actually told by Dr. Rose Pat from the department of EFCC to look into your payment issue, please I want you to confirm if you have received your fund? If you have, could you please forward copy of the payment slip through email attachment for references?

While I was going through some foreign payment file made in the last 5year I saw your Payment file marked with Red X indicating that payment has been effected but there was no reflection of such transfer among the payment made over these years in our foreign payment record.

In your file also were some elements of contradictions and circumvention, which needs clarifications. Please update me with all you know to enable me to give you necessary assistance.

Your urgent reply and co-operation is highly needed.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Joe Ugoala.
Head, Policy, Strategy and
Risk Management Department
