"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

Please my name is Ebenezer Onyeagwu, head of Operations and Credit Administration of Zenith Bank Ghana Limited.

During the auditing of the bank's general account ending 31st December 2014, I discovered an abandoned Twenty-eight Million United States Dollars (US$28M) only which belonged to one of our deceased client, William Barnes, who perished in an Egyptian airline 990 along with his entire family on 31st Oct 1999. See referal:http://www.sptimes.com/News/110299/Worldandnation/Passenger_list_for_Eg.shtml

I am writing to seek for your consent and approval in re-profiling the said funds on your name as the next of kin to William Barnes. At the logical conclusion of the transfer into your nominated bank account, we shall split it evenly.

If I may earn your trust, please get back to me with the reconfirmation of your contact details ( full name, address and contact phone number) otherwise, please trash this original message and do not use the content therein against me or my good office.

Please reply through my gmail account (ebeneagwu@gmail.com)

Thank you and have a nice day.

Ebenezer Onyeagwu
