"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello dear

I must first apologize for this unsolicited mail to you before I proceed. I am aware that this is certainly not a conventional way of approach to establish a relationship of trust, but you will realize the need for my action. My Barrister Morrris Martins of M.M & ASSOCIATES: LEGAL PRACTITIONERS & FINANCIAL SOLICITORS.

Actually, I got your contact information while searching for family relatives to my late client who bears the same last name with yours, he was an expatriate engineer who worked with the Mining and Smelting Company (Asturiana de Zinc S.A.) in West Africa for thirteen years. He died along-side with his entire family on the 25th December,2003 in a Air Crash.

My suggestion to you is that I want you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to my late client since he was a citizen of your country so that his account deposit that was deposited with a bank in my country will be released to you.
