"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello,

My name is Riyad Farid Hijab, the Former Prime Minister of Syria. With
due sense of humanity and responsibility, I am writing to ask for your
help. I fled with my family to Amman, Jordan, we later moved to Europe
where my family settled.

I have deposited the sum of forty five million United States dollars
(us$45,000,000) with a security company, for safekeeping, I need your
urgent assistance to move the money, I want you to assist us in
investing this money, but I don't want my identity revealed. I will also
want to buy properties and stock in multi-national companies and to
engage in other investments. I emphasize the high level of
confidentiality in the business, and hope you won't betray the trust and
confidence that I rest on you.

In conclusion, if you want to assist us, my son shall throw more light
on it when due. Send details of your contact address. Acknowledge
receipt of this mail if you can help, as my family would give 20% of the
money to you after the transaction.
