"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: INVESTMENT IN YOUR COUNTRY

Dear Friend,

Pardon my invading your privacy, I am currently looking for a partnership investment in your country because i intend investing in your country as long as you are able to cooperate and do this business with me. You do not know me but I got your information in search of business partner in your country.
I am the manager of auditing and accounting department of a reputable Bank here in United States. In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of $20,500,000.00 (TWENTY MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND U.S DOLLARS) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer (MR. ANDREAS SCHRANNER From Munich, Germany) Who died along with his entire family in July 2000 in a plane crash for more information about the crash you can visit this site::( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/859479.stm)

Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines and laws but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim. It is therefore upon this discovery that I decided to make this business proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill.

It is upon this discovery that i have decided to make this business proposal to you and help facilitate the release of this money to you as the next of kin to the deceased customer since nobody is coming for the claims. According to United States financial laws on inheritance, funds with any United States financial institute after a period of 15 years without claim will be declared to the United States government as unclaimed fund. Therefore by the end of this fiscal year the government will officially take over this fund and i don't want these funds to be declared to the U.s government rather i want us to work together and get the funds release to you then we shall give out some for charity in your country.

I shall assemble all the necessary Legal Documents that will be used to back up our claim and all I require is your honest cooperation to enable us seeing this deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of law. Please get in touch with me by email to enable us discuss further and I can send to you my Bank staff Identification card and I have more than 20years banking experience as a banker and will not want to dent my name and reputation, be reassure you that this transaction is 100% risk free, once you abide to my directives.

I shall explain further to you as soon as I received your reply.

Yours Faithfully,
Mr. Hung Aui
