"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: ACTIVE AND DELIVERY BY EMS POST

Hello My Good Friend,
First i would like to introduce myself because we never exchange email
before or phone call. I only have the good chance to contact by email
because it is needed urgent answer before we can proceed.

My name is Robert Hills, I work with United Bank for Africa in Nigeria
as a clerk. Your file was submitted to me yesterday for preview and
cancellation of your payment because you failed to meet up with the
request of processing an ATM CARD value $2,950,000.00 and its PIN. I
was not happy to see your name on the file because i thought that you
have received your ATM card long while ago but as it is now,the bank
operating Manger here in Lagos wants to terminate the payment in your
favor. You need to get in touch with me immediately so that i will not
cancel your payment file.

I want you to be sincere with me so that when i help you reactivate
your file today and you will only pay the postage and that is all that
you have to contribute in this matter.

Furthermore, i will send the ATM card to you via EMS fast post because
it is very affordable and faster in delivery. The amount they told me
to deliver your ATM card is $97 and it is going to take few hours
instead of normal 24 hours service by DHL, FedEx Or even UPS.

Finally but not the end, i would like to hear from you if you want the
help and willing to come up with the $97 this Wednesday because there
is no time.

With Respect,
Mr Robert Hills
