"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

The United Kingdom National Lottery
wishes to inform you the results of the e-mail address ballot lottery
international program by Great Britain held on 26th September, 2015.
Your email account has been picked as a winner of a lump sum payout of
One Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollar ($1,500,000.00)
in cash credited to file reference number: UK/03578/01.

All
participants for the online version were selected randomly from World
Wide Web through computer balloting system drawn from over 100,000 names
database, union associations and corporate bodies that are listed
online. The Camelot Group, operators of the United Kingdom National
Lottery is approved by the British Gaming Board and also licensed by the
International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR).

All
winning must be claimed not later than 14 working days from this
notification. After this time all unclaimed funds will be returned to
European Union Treasury as unclaimed. Your award winning payment
allocation grant has been loaded into ATM debit card by our payment
correspondent bank which you can use to withdraw your money from any
bank ATM machine anywhere in your country. You are advice to keep your
winning information confidential until your ATM Debit Card is processed
and delivered to you. This is part of our security protocol to avoid
double claiming and unwarranted abuse of this program.
