"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Greetings,

I am a lawyer Hemslin Jude of the Republic of Togo, a legal
practitioner. I saw your profile on Facebook.com and decided to
contact you. I crave indulgence to intimate you in a business
transaction involving legacy left behind by my late client Mr.Robert
, who died a few years ago in a terrible accident with the
whole family. Before his death, my late client made a cash deposit (
$USD 10.5 Million) in a bank in Lome/Togo.
I have contacted you because you have the same surname with him. Since
you both have the same surname, I assume you are likely to be close to
his extended family members, which entitles you to inherit the Fund.
Consider this offer and get back to me if you are interested. I will
discuss the details on how to proceed and what will be your benefits
when I receive your positive response.

Best regards,
Barrister Hemslin Jude
