"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello ,

Hello ,

With trust, I faithfully contact you. I know this letter will definitely
come to you as a huge Surprise, but I implore you to take the time to go
through it carefully as the decision you make will go a long way to
determine my future and my business prospect.
I am Capt.WILLIAM JOHNSON, II Marine Expeditionary of Multinational
Division Center base in Kabul, Afghanistan of the NATO Marine Force on
Monitoring and Peace keeping mission in Afghanistan.
Based on the United States legislative and executive decision to withdraw
some troops from Afghanistan, I am desperately in need of your assistance
and I have summoned up courage to open up to you. I am presently in
Afghanistan, and I am seeking your assistance to help me secure the sum of
($11.7 Million) to Europe or a safe location, as far as I can be assured
that it will be safe until I complete my service here in a couple of weeks.
There are no dangers involved.
Clarity on the root of this money.
Some money in various currencies was discovered and concealed in barrels
with piles of weapons and ammunition at a location near one of TERRORIST
CAMP in Aria in the north of the city of Kabul during a rescue operation
and it was agreed by all party present that the money be shared amongst.
This might appear as an illegal thing to do but I tell you what,
No compensation can make up for the risks we have taken with our lives in
this hell hole.
The above figure was given to me as my share and to conceal this kind of
money became a problem for me as a soldier, so with the help of a British
contact working with the RED CROSS here there office enjoys some [immunity]
I was able to get the package out to a safe location and secured stored
entirely out of trouble spot. No one knows the real contents of the package
as it is believed that it belongs to an American who died in bomb blast,
and before giving up trusted me to hand over the package to his family .
I have 100% authentic means of transferring the money through diplomatic
courier Service. I just need your acceptance and trust. I will give you the
complete details you will need for us to implement this transaction
successfully. I decided to contact someone I could trust and real and not
imaginary, so I can be sure of a safe transaction.
I need to get the package out before I live the base, This and other
reasons put into consideration have prompted me to reach out for help. If
it might be of interest to you then Endeavor to contact me and we would
work out the necessary formalities but I pray that you are discreet about
this mutually benefiting relationship.
In less than 4 days the box should be in your possession, and I will come
for my money immediately am done. I will give you 30% of the money and 70%
for me. I hope I have been fair to this deal. Get back to me with your full
