"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re:

Greetings to you,

I am Mrs Chou Etsuko, the wife of late Akihikio Etsuko.
I and my husband are Japanese who lived and conducted businesses in the UK for years. We have done a lot of philantropic donations to the poor in Asia and to cancer patients since the day I was confirmed cancer positive.

As I write to you, I am down with cancer, and it is difficult to do what I use to do, because the doctor gave me few weeks to live. However, I and my late husband have a large amount of money in a security company in the UK before we returned back to Japan. This money is meant to be donated as charity in Africa, haven donated severally to Asia. I was supposed to donate this amount with my late husband, but because he is late, I have to do it alone by travelling to Africa.

Nevertheless, this cancer has made it practically impossible for me to make this donation to African poor families African orphans who are suffering, as I promised my husband that I would do. This is the reason why I have written this letter to you.

I searched few IDs online and chose at random who to ask this help from. I contacted few people I know in person, but non of them is willing to do it for me, because they are afraid to travel to Africa due to negative news about Africa, which the internet has exaggerated. This is the assistance I want from you;
Help me donate this funds to an orphanage or organization taking care of poor families in Africa. It is not important that you travel to Africa to do this, seems everyone I've spoken to would not like to travel to Africa. I do not want you to just contact any organization online, because a lot of them will keep the money for themself and never use it for the purpose. So, I suggest that you make a good findings about any organization you will donate to, so that you will be sure that you are donating to the right one. If I was srtong enough, I would have traveled to Africa to do it by myself.

I will make you reward yourself from the money, so you do not work for free.

Reply me back.

Thank you for your time in reading this.

Mrs Chou Etsuko
