"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: PARTNERSHIP INVESTMENT PROPOSAL

Greetings !
This proposal was mailed to you with clear intents and purposes; I
have a proposal even though complex however beneficial. My name is
John Shum solicitor with White & Case LLP as a legal and financial
advisor assigned to administer client’s social and economic interest
as it may require.
My acquaintances with various clients acquaints me with an investor
and business owner of Japanese nationality, it is no longer news the
natural disaster that occurred in Japan over 310 people were killed,
350 missing and 544 people injured after 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit
Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011. My client Mr. Murasaki Takahashi”
perished with his family in this unfortunate natural disaster. The
news agencies of Kyodo and Jiji Press said that the corpses were found
in Tokyo after the family home collapsed.

The demise of the breadwinner and the entire family evidently shaped
an ample opportunity to gain immensely from the financial investment
made by the breadwinner with a known Bank in Hong Kong an offshore
bank account that would be disclose to you in due course of our
correspondence; if we eventually establish a business relationship. As
an expression of interest and determination, the sum of USD32.500.000
(Thirty-Two Million,
Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars Only) is claimable at our gainful
resolves and mutual interest as partners. It is a factual statement
that a Man Tragedy is Another Man Opportunity. Thus, I proposed to do
business with you in lieu to showcase intricacies of larceny while
acting within the law and gain mutually with no risk exposed to your
integrity because modality of operations have been carefully designed
to suit your pose, additionally this plot is absolutely an arrangement
between you and me no other employee nor my employer is aware of this
subversion because White & Case LLP is a large American law firm with
over 2,000 lawyers in 37 offices in 25 countries and more than 4,800
staff.

The 2008 economic crisis, the frozen credit markets, economic
shrinkage, and global downturn that began in 2008 have had a
significant impact on White & Case as well as other law firms. On
November 11, 2008, the firm announced that it was laying off 70
lawyers and 100 staff members at a time when job prospects for lawyers
were very weak. With a second round of layoffs on March 10, 2009, an
additional 200 lawyers and 200 staff were laid off. I supposedly need
to take advantage of this kind of opportunity to secure retirement age
in a highly competitive and cruel world.

Think this over and should you be interested, please let me hear from
you. Perhaps if you are not interested kindly treat this letter with
confidentiality and discard completely. Remember this single decision
is capable of changing our lives in the next week or so.
Yours Truly,
John Shum
(Consultant Solicitor & Partner)
