"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear Beneficiary,

PALACE WORLDWIDE COURIER SERVICES
Heathrow Airport Office Complex
London, United Kingdom

Dear Beneficiary,

After our just concluded mid year audit of all the consignments in our secured storage facility we came across a trunk that has overstayed its storage duration period. In the initial declaration form filled by the initial depositor, the trunk is listed to contain antiques valued at 2.5 Million GBP. All efforts to contact the initial depositor has proved abortive as we have confirmed from the nursing home listed as our clients residence on the consignments declaration form that our client has since passed away. We deemed it necessary to contact you as you are listed as his next of kin on the declaration form and as stipulated in our company charter, upon the death of the initial depositor, the consignment is to be delivered to his or her next of kin. Kindly send the below listed details to us so as to enable us proceed with the delivery of the consignment to you.
