"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

- "dear friend" (a common phrase found in 419 scams)
- "united state dollar" (this email uses bad English)
- "courier company" (Courier companies mentioned in 419 scams are always fake. They will have you send money to them, but won't deliver anything. )

Subject: Good Day

Dear friend

This is to notify you that your fund has been programmed in an ATM visa card for immediate delivery to you upon reconfirming your physical destination address as all arrangements has been finalized and to released to you as the legitimate beneficiary of the fund, via global ATM visa card.

i have deposited your ATM visa card of USD$1.800, 000, 00 united state dollars to the DHL delivery services here in U.S, due to i have waited enough to hear from you so that your funds can be transferred through united bank for Africa (UBA) here, but because of the late response i decide to deposit the ATM visa card with the DHL delivery services.

Requirements#:

(1) Your home address
(2) Your direct telephone
(3) Your passport or ID card

Your ATM visa card withdrawing access PIN number is (8114) take note, once you receive the card you take it to any cash point around your area and slot the card and enter the PIN number (8114).Finally, be informed that we have left instructions to the DHL department for urgent delivery of your ATM visa card immediately you forward them the required information, feel free to get in touch with DHL today.
