"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re: Your fund is available

Beginning in January this year, we carried out thorough review of banks within the United States that still holds funds belonging to beneficiaries. We discovered the sum of $5.500.000.00 which was approved for transfer to you since 2015.

Bear it in mind that IMF is not in the position to transfer your fund to you. Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union Bank has custody of your fund. We are only obligated to guide you through to the bank. The International Monetary Fund(IMF) took up this task due to recent reports from beneficiaries who had fallen victim to corrupt bank officials both

here in the United States and abroad. Like the banks in Africa, they keep demanding for unnecessary fees from respective and innocent beneficiaries.

In this regards, I advise you to open a separate bank account strictly to receive this fund or better-still, tell us which bank you bank with and we shall inform your bank of this transaction.

Therefore, you are required to send us the following.

Your full name
Contact Address
Telephone/fax
Date of birth
Occupation
Marital Status

For further details, kindly call Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union Account officer Mr

Charles Howard on 213 921 5715 or email him the required details at

(tress.americas@yahoo.com)

He will be very much pleased to attend to you and expatiate further.

Best Regards,
Christine Lagarde
Managing Director (MD)
International Monetary Fund (IMF)
