"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello My Dear Friend,

Hello My Dear Friend,

How are you doing today? I am very sorry to encroach into your privacy in
this manner, I am interested in establishing and operating in a very
viable business as a means of investment abroad. I am Mr. David Gunter, a
Bank officer here in my bank. I have an urgent and interesting proposal
for you, I believe it is destine for me to come across your name here. A
deceased client of mine who is same SURNAME with you made a fixed deposit
with my bank in 2005 for 60 calendar months, valued at US$25,000,000.00
(Twenty Five Million US Dollars).

Last three month I was issued a notice to provide the Next of Kin within
Six months or have the fund divert into the bank treasury, and this
ultimatum expires in the next three months. but Albert was among the death
victims in the May 26 2006 Earthquake disaster in Jawa, Indonesia that
killed over 5,000 people Last week my Bank Management requested that
(Albert) should give instructions on what to do about his funds, if to
renew the contract.

That is why I am seeking your co-operation to present you as the Next of
Kin/ beneficiary to the account. There is no risk involved, so I am
suggesting we share the funds in this ratio, 50/50%, equal sharing. We
shall go over the details once I receive your urgent response strictly
through my private and personal email address (davidgunter0691@yahoo.com).
We can as well discuss this on phone; let me have your telephone number
and also know when you will be available to speak with me urgently. Have a
nice day and remain blessed. NB; more details will be giving to you as
soon as i hear from you.

My regards,

Mr. David Gunter
