"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Attention Sir/Madam

I would appreciate if the content of this email is kept strictly confidenti=
al and respect the integrity of the information/content of this mail. I am =
Richard Etemesi Chief Financial Officer of Operation at Standard Chartered =
Bank in South Africa. I am contacting you concerning an abandoned sum of $1=
9,500,000.00 (Nineteen Million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars).=
In June 2005, a customer called Joseph a foreign contractor with Royal Dut=
ch Plc came to our bank for business discussions and investment, As the off=
icer in charge of his transaction then, I encouraged him to consider variou=
s growth of funds with prime ratings. Then he invested $15,000,000.00 (Fift=
een Million United State Dollars).

Based on my advice, we were able to spin the initial deposit with profit an=
d interest to 19.5 Million United State Dollars. After few months; my bank =
(Standard Chartered Bank) sent several notice to him without response and u=
nfortunately, my client died in a plane crash along with his nuclear family=
at France while on sabbatical in the summer of 2000, may their soul rest i=
n peace. He died without leaving a Will and several efforts were made to fi=
nd his extended family through your embassy without success. Because of the=
sensitive nature of private banking, most customers don't nominate next of=
kin in their investment, also usually in most cases leave their WILLS in o=
ur care, in this case; our now deceased client died in-testate.

It is quite clear now that our dear client died with no identifiable family=
member. According to practice, the Private banking sector will by the end =
of this year broadcast a request for statement of claim to Standard Charter=
ed Bank, failing to receive viable claims they will probably revert the dep=
osit to the Management of Standard Chartered Bank. This will result the mon=
ey entering Standard Chartered accounting system and the portfolio will be =
out of my hands and out of the private banking division. What bothers me mo=
st; according to South African laws the expiration of {15} years the funds=
will revert to the ownership of the SA Government if nobody applies to cla=
im the funds.

Now, I am prepared to give the necessary details to you as the closest surv=
iving relation of our deceased customer (Mr. Joseph.) as you bears the-same=
surname with him. You can confirm the genuineness of the deceased death by=
clicking on this web site below
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/859479.stm

I am also proposing that after a successful execution of the business deal,=
the funds will be shared in the ratio 40/60. You will get 40% ($7,800,000.=
00) and I will be entitled to 60% ($11,700,000.00) as the initiator of the =
deal. You know that I must have done my home work already before contacting=
you. Although the project is capital intensive, I know I will be able to p=
ull it through following proper banking and legal Channels with your assist=
ance at your end. I will tidy up the legal aspect with the assistance of a =
lawyer who will prepare all the documents that will be needed to transfer t=
he money from the South Africa to your country. Once more, I ask that if yo=
u find no interest in this project that you should discard this mail and fo=
rget I ever contacted you, I ask that you are not being vindictive and dest=
ructive; do not destroy my career. Opportunities like this only comes once =
in a lifetime. I am a family man and this is an opportunity for me to give =
my family the best in life. I would want you to think about this and let me=
know your decision because this is not the first time i have strike a simi=
lar deal. If you give me a positive response, I will give you the relevant =
INFORMATION for the successful transfer of these funds and we both enjoy it=
in peace. All I require from you is honesty/sincerity, corporation, truthf=
ulness and devotion to this transaction as I guarantee that this will be ex=
ecuted under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach=
of the law. Confidentiality is the key for this transaction and I want to =
be sure that you are ready to execute this transaction with me.

If you give me positive signals, I will initiate this process towards a con=
clusion. I wish to inform you that you should not contact me via official C=
hannels else I will deny knowing you and about this project. You can also c=
heck on my biography from this link as well https://www.sc.com/za/about-us=
/key-people.html you can also call our official line but do not talk abou=
t this transaction or I may deny knowing you, when you call? Ask of Mr. Ric=
hard Etemesi (Standard Chartered Bank) and if I am on seat, then your call =
shall be transfer to me, what I will want you to do is to abort the call be=
fore I talk because my official line are not in secured means to reach me b=
earing in mind the nature of this transaction, because they are periodicall=
y monitored to access our level of customer care in line with our Total Qua=
lity Management. I will await your response.
