"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam
The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.
Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.
Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:
- An email address listed inside this email has been used in a known fraud before.
- This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
- The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
- "united state of america" (this email uses bad English)
- This email message is a 419 scam. Please see our 419 FAQ for more details on such scams.
- This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

This email maybe a surprise to you because you did not give me
the permission to send you this email and am very sorry if this
email batch into your privacy.
Am glad i found you while sending you this message because is
very important.
I am Gray Woods from United State of America, i work in a
Pharmaceutical company and i have a business proposal which will
benefit the both of us and is risk free.
I am the assistant purchasing manager of my company i do come to
India to purchase our company production material which is called
the raw irvingia seed.
Am about to be transferred to another branch and the company will
be sending the new assistant purchasing manager to India to buy
the product this time around. I am afraid because i have been
ruining a deal with my company buying the product at $1200 for
each 200g pack of the company production seed while i have been
collecting $1500 for each 200g from my company.
My dear i sick to present you as the local dealer to my company
so as to gain the contract supply at $1500 on each 200g as our
company will be needing 500 packs this time around and to whom i
present to the new assistant purchasing manager is whom he will
come to visit for testing confirmation as a new assistant

use this opportunity to know you very well and explain more
better for more understanding because if i can't trust your
capacity then i can't give you more details on how you are to get
this contract from my company as you have me as an insider in the
company.
