"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: UNITED NATIONS COMPENSATION.

Dear Sir,

UNITED NATIONS COMPENSATION FOR SCAM VICTIMS

At the just concluded United Nations meeting at its headquarters in New York,
the Secretary General and members of the G7 gave some countries, including
Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa etc, grants to compensate people who have been
scammed of their money.

The grant given to Nigeria is $5b Dollars and each person that have been scammed
will receive between $3m to $5m Dollars depending on the facts presented.

The Nigerian government has therefore given this responsibility to the ICPC
(Independent Corrupt Practices Commission), to process and pay claims / compensations
to those effected and to also investigate and recommend for payment for those whose
files are still pending for funds transfer due to minor faults. The apex investigative
body saddled with the responsibility of fighting corruption and other related offences.
The ICPC was inaugurated on the 29th of September 2000. The Act in Section 3, Paragraph
(14) provides for the independence of the Commission and gives the Chairman authority to
issue orders for the control and general administration of the Commission.

Upon receipt of this email, please furnish this organization your request for claim /
compensation with any prove that you have been a scam victim or that your payment is
pending in any bank or organization in Nigeria. We will investigate it and pay you thereafter.
Please include information about you including name, address and phone number for easy
communications.

You are advised to contact the Chairman of ICPC on his direct line; -----------------------------,
or email: ==============================, for any discussions relevant to your payment file.
