"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dearly beloved in Christ Jesus,

I pray that this letter meets you fine and sound conditions of mind. I came across your email while searching for a God fearing Christian Individual. My name is Mrs. Margretta Beckford from United Kingdom. I am 68 years old widow, i was diagnosed with breast cancer recently and my doctor told me that i have only two months to live. My late husband Dr. Howard Beckford May his soul rest in peace was a former UK high commissioner to Ivory coast in west africa. During his days he has a deposit of fund valued at $4.5 million dollars in one the banks in Ivory coast which i'm the beneficiary. I and my husband were married for 32 years without a child, my husband died 8 years ago after a brief illness. I want to donate this fund to you for charity purposes, i want you to use the fund to help the less privileged in the society, orphans, widows, and to ensure that church of God is maintained. I shall give you more information as soon as i receive your positive
response.

Have a nice day and remain blessed in the Lord.

Sincerely yours,
Mrs. Margretta Beckford.
