"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: COME AND CLAIM YOUR CONSIGNMENT

James Scott
Director, Cargo Inspections
Denver International Airport
City & County of Denver Department of Aviation
8500 Pena Blvd.

Dear Consignment Owner,

I am Mr. James Scott, i am the director of cargo inspections at Denver International Airport. During our recent routine cargo inspections i discovered a package abandoned with your email address written on it, when i scanned it revealed huge sum of money of about $7.5 million. On further investigation i found out that the package was abandoned due to wrong content declaration and the inability of the delivery person to pay the customs clearance because he did not know that the Consignment contained huge sum of money.

I will make arrangement for the Consignment to be moved out of Denver International Airport to your doorstep or any address of your choice. If you accept we can work this out together and we strike a deal, i will give you 60% of the money while you give me 40% once the Consignment is cleared by the customs and delivered to you. I can get everything concluded in less than 48 hours and proceed to your address for delivery upon your acceptance.

Please give me your names, phone number and preferred delivery address so that we can proceed.

I am expecting your positive reply.

Sincerely,
Mr. James Scott
