"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

My name is Mr Almad Lamin, I am presently working as an foreign auditor in a financial institution. I am writing you this proposal in good faith, believing that I can trust you with the information I am about to reveal to you. I need a foreign account urgently for me to make a swift transfer of a huge amount about US$25.5m that was seized last week in our bank due to ongoing political crisis in the country.

Please get back to me as quickly as possible to enable me give you more details regarding the transfer. I know you must have had much in world news about what is presently going on now in GHANA.

I am seeking your honest co-operation to present you as unpaid foreign contractor who has not being paid by past Government so that the bank head quarters will release the funds to us. There is practically no risk involved, the transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you and me.

Please contact me immediately with your private email AND send me your Phone numbers and Full address before we can move on with regular phone conservations for more details and please do not expose this deal if you are not interested, because if you do, I will automatically lose my job.
