"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Before I start, I must firstly apologize for this unsolicited proposal
to you. I am aware that this is certainly an unconventional approach
to starting a relationship, but as time goes on you will realize the
need for my action.

I am Mr. Ghassan Assi Former Personal Adviser to President Bashar
al-Assad of Syrian Arab Republic on Oil and Gas matters and also CEO
AI Safwat Company. On 7 March 2012 I resigned to join the opposition
to Bashar al-Assad's government because i did not want to support the
regime of the President Bashar al-Assad which has continually
brutalized and killing of innocent people and due to the ongoing war
for many years now my country (SYRIA) has been devastated and many of
our citizens are scattered in different countries suffering.

Currently, am seeking asylum overseas and due to my present situation
am looking for a trustworthy person, I have only written to seek your
indulgence, assistance and support.I wish to make a transfer involving
a huge amount which was deposited with a financial firm overseas, all
that is required from you is to receive, invest and manage the funds
on my behalf then we will work out all the modalities concerning to
the investments.
