"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Respectfully,

I write to seek for your assistance to help me achieve my aim of relocating my family out of Syria. We have enough money that will bear all the costs including buying a new house and setting a business in your country but we are afraid not to be faced with what a lot Syrian business people that travelled out of Syria with out good contact oversea or right papers are faced with.

We need you as our foreign helper that will stand that to protect our interests in your country as investors and also utilize our fund on good investments in form of joint venture. I and my family are very good people which you will confirm your self when we arrive, I assure you, Insha Allah you will benefit greatly from assisting and partnering with us.

Meanwhile, I will appreciate it mostly if you attend to our need urgently as we want to travel out of Syria possibly in the next one or two weeks but before then we want to make sure our fund is moved to your country and entrusted on your care before we arrive to meet you so you can have enough money to make proper preparations for a better and new life before we arrive after which we begin investments.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Aishat Yusuf
