"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
- "million dollars" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)
- "mrs.justineoscar@outlook.com" (this email address has been used in a known scam)

Germany. I got married to Late Husband Engineer Lucas Oscar in libya
when he was working in Paris France Embassy in Libya Tripoli and he
die in the year 2011 in the crisis of Muammar Gaddafi after he retired
from work and went back to his home country Benin Republic. Both of us
lived in the city here in Libya Tripoli when he was alive, since after
his death in the year 2011 his families became angry against me and
hated me because I did not bear a child for my late husband their late
brother before he died.

Because of that reason they have taken all our properties both our
house here and in Paris, they don't care to know about me if I am
alive or not, what they are after is to hear that I am dead because of
my health that is killing me now. They have taken all the properties
but they dont have access to our fund in the bank, they are treating
me bad I really cannot allow them to use the fund because they all
hate me because I am childless. I have decieded to hand over this fund
sum of US$9,500 Million Dollars to you so that you will manage it very
well for the charity purpose believing that I will receive my healing
after making this offer to God. Please what I need is your honesty and
trust, my doctor have told me that I will not survive my present
situation, I am only hoping for God's miracle hand to heal me. What I
